Tom Ryan is a Resource Specialist with The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. Tom’s geography and political science degrees are from the University of California at Los Angeles. Early in his career he worked as a researcher for the U.S. Forest Service, and as an environmental planner for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. At Metropolitan he has worked on Colorado River water resource issues for twenty years, with his focus over the past decade being the Colorado River Basin States’ river augmentation programs, specifically those related to tamarisk management and weather modification. Tom currently serves on the boards of the North American Weather Modification Council, and the Weather Modification Association. He lives in Los Angeles.
