After a peripatetic existence working in various capacities for the National Park Service and the U.S. Forest Service, Shannon is happy to be back in her home state of Colorado. She joined the Tamarisk Coalition in 2010; since this time she has worked with partners on a variety of projects in several sub-watersheds within the Colorado River Basin. Shannon is currently heading up local efforts to restore riparian habitat in the greater Grand Junction area. She received her Masters of Science in Environmental Science from the University of Idaho and her Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies/Biology from Whitman College, in Walla Walla, Washington.
