Investing in Communities and Sustained River Health
Rivers throughout the Southwestern United States are imperiled by invasive plants and degraded native habitat. Fortunately, local partnerships are the solution to revitalizing these rivers and managing invasive plants effectively over the long-term.
Restore Our Rivers Goals:
By investing the health of these nine partnerships Restore Our Rivers will ensure riparian restoration work is completed and successful. The goals of this program are to:
- Restore the ecological health of more than 51,000 acres of riverside lands impacted by invasive plants;
- Train and hire hundreds of youth, veterans, and local contractors;
- Improve opportunities for recreation along rivers; and
- Benefit local economies.
Help Restore Our Rivers!
Make a donation to support the Restore Our Rivers campaign today and help communities throughout the Southwest enhance the health of rivers and, as a result, the quality of life for those of us fortunate enough to call this region home! Your investment will ensure that river protection work continues and is sustained into the future.
To date, $1,076,258 (45% of total goal) has been committed to this initiative, including pledges from all Tamarisk Coalition board members.
