4th Annual Raft the River

Tamarisk Coalition
August 26th, 2017
Fruita, CO
On August 26th, join us and local river experts for Raft the River, a fun, educational float trip and dinner along the Colorado River in Fruita, Colorado from 3:00~7:30.  Plus, this year we'll be floating a new stretch of river compared to previous years; from Rimrock Adventures to the Loma Boat Ramp!
This one-day float trip, guided by Rimrock Adventures, will provide you with a “behind the scenes” look at the work being done to rejuvenate the treasured riparian (riverside) area in the Grand Valley.
We'll be floating approximately 6 miles of river (from the Rimrock Adventures' boat ramp down to the take-out at the Loma boat ramp) for about two hours on the water.  With multiple stops along the river, we'll get to hear from water experts and explore the past, current, and future riverside restoration sites and reclaimed wildlife areas.  Discussions will also include the tamarisk beetle, fish, and other wildlife.
After the float, we'll be greeted with live music from Shaun Ray, delicious food donated by local restaurants, drinks (including beer from Copper Club Brewing Company), and prizes.
Cost is $68 for Tamarisk Coalition members; $80 for non-members.  Price covers the entire event: river float, shuttle, raft guides, dinner, beer, and music.  All proceeds go to Tamarisk Coalition programs that are restoring rivers in the West.
Don't miss our favorite event of the year!  Space is limited.
